It is now or never.
We need to have people at high offices of football who are knowledgeable and competent and not pushing their own agendas.
Our football is being killed by people who were never in the system as footballers.
It’s high time we have structures as ambassadors of the game, war veterans are a good example.
As ambassadors of football, people who went through the mill, if we put our house in order and be united for a common purpose we won’t be taken for granted.
Our voices will be heard and football will win.
What worries me is that some people get into office and start to divide football ambassadors (former players).
It is the same people with a bad attitude towards ambassadors that also say former players are not literate, hence they cannot learn anything from us.
As football ambassadors we are our own enemies, we give them too much room “bafike besitshayele umthetho endlini engeyethu.” I can’t go to the theatre at Mpilo hospital and want to operate a patient, it needs education and skill.
Who feels it knows it and will treat the next player with dignity.
The so-called learned administrators come in and start to be big headed while football suffers.
They don’t need to please us, or do us any favours, but they must know that the offices they hold belong to football.
My column won’t be complete without congratulating Marvellous Makamba for the big move to Aston Villa in England, one of the top leagues in the world.
Well done Methembe Ndlovu for giving the young boy the platform to showcase his skills.
Good luck to the Warriors on the return leg of the Chan qualifier at Barbourfields Stadium.
