The incident occurred during the early hours of Tuesday.

According to a company statement, a group of approximately 30 illegal miners unlawfully entered the open pit mine site and conducted an illegal blast.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) attended the scene promptly.

In a statement, Dallaglio Investments expressed regret over the tragic and untimely deaths.
