Seven candidates, among them Cdes Nyasha Chikwinya, Jane Mabuto-Knight, Agatha Mugomba-Mparutsa, Octavia Mutemararo, Alice Mutindori, Monica Mutsvangwa and Happiness Faith Nyakuedzwa, were vying for the slots.

Four candidates chosen by the eight strong Zanu-PF Administrative District were Cdes Chikwinya, Mabuto-Knight, Mugomba-Mparutsa and Mutindori.

The four were expected to go for further elections yesterday (Thursday) to choose two members to take up head of department positions in the national executive, while the other two will be deputy secretaries. Zanu-PF deputy provincial chairman Cde Elliot Kasu confirmed the results and said they had not received any complaints of irregularities at the time of going to Press.

“Just like the youth elections, the process went on well without any incidences reported. We had seven candidates contesting and we now have the final four candidates who will go for further elections to choose the two who will take up head of department portfolios in the national executive. The elections will be held tomorrow (today).

“We are yet to receive any complaints from the contestants and we want to hail members of the National Consultative Assembly and some selected Central Committee members for their professional conduct in holding the elections. We also want to thank the various districts that participated for showing their maturity and voting in the most peaceful manner,” he said.
