HISTORY is about to be made!
Feli Nandi, Awa Khiwe, Nisha Ts and Mary Anibal have arrived in Germany for the second edition of the Moto Moto Festival set for tomorrow.
The festival will be a vibrant celebration of Zimbabwean culture and music.
Awa Khiwe said she was a woman on a mission.
“I’m on a mission to empower and share my voice as a Zimbabwean rapper on a global platform.
“I identify myself as a member of the Diaspora, permanently residing in Germany, but I have never lost sight of the roots that created me.
“Look, I’ve been around and I’m still here, I’ve been a thug but I’m still Queen.”
With this line, AWA reflects on her values as an African Queen while also being proud of the township from where she hails.
The organisers of the festival said Pfeka, Zimbabwe’s premier Afro Athleisure brand, will be showcasing their unique collection.
The SHONA ART GALLERY will exhibit, sell pieces and also conduct some workshops on site.
“For the past twenty years, the SHONA ART GALLERY at Steinhausen Castle in Witten on the Ruhr has been a cultural gem, enchanting visitors with exceptional sculptures made of serpentine stone, upcycled metal and driftwood.
“Set amid old mines, an ancient forest and close to the Ruhr, the gallery offers the perfect ambience to highlight these magnificent African art pieces.
“Don’t miss this unique opportunity to experience the splendor of Zimbabwean art at the Moto Moto Festival,”they said.
The first edition of the festival received some good reviews.
Even the rain could not extinguish the fire at the Moto Moto Festival.
Feli Nandi honoured the late music legend Ambuya Stella Chiweshe.
