Fourth Generation Bakkie ready to conquer Africa

Robert Mukondiwa

Africa awaits with bated breath as Ford prepares to unleash the fourth generation ford ranger next week in a much anticipated launch in George South Africa next week.

Of course there are so many features that will make this a delectable offering for car lovers who feast on vehicular engineering genius that shall be kept under wraps until the grand launch but there are a few giveaways.

Like the choice of the Garden Route as the venue for the launch for example.

With oceanic climate, mild to warm summers, and mild to cool winters, It has the mildest climate in South Africa and reportedly the second mildest climate in the world, after Hawaii!

Added to UNESCO’s World Network of Biosphere Reserves in 2017, that must scream an ecological beauty in a world that wants to leave as little of a carbon footprint as is reasonably possible for a beast of its kind.

And then again the Garden Route also says sophistication and style.

So with that in mind, plus the knowledge from the scant images and video on the Webosphere, one can deduce that this shall be a marvel of seamless juxtapositioning of two radically varied yet sensually attached qualities.

An engineering architecture that unleashes a beautiful body symmetry and the ruthless aggressive mechanical power of a tyrant all wrapped in one.

At least that is what all other Fords in the Ranger errr, range, have all been slowly transitioning and evolving to ever since petrol-heads have been gifted with the beautiful beast of travel and lifestyle that Ford Ranger is!

And don’t they just brag? You can apparently tow anything that you bloody want! The ghost in this machine is so powerful it can tow up to three tonnes without breaking sweat…or whatever it is that beasts of metal emit to show fatigue however remote.

And yes, one can never be too sure with speculation, but the leaks, the only one this Ford will ever have presumably, is that it also has an EcoBlue diesel engine with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) for those greener emissions that leave our planet with a semblance of a smile.

Whatever the case, with a front row seat to the new Fourth Gen Ranger, Business Weekly will be able to speak truth to speculation next week when the Ranger is officially unveiled before African media and petrol-heads.

Perhaps until then it is best to sit back, relax, smoke and pipe and look forward to the birth of yet another automobile miracle ready to conquer the diverse African terrain!
