Mines and Mining Development Minister Winston Chitando has sent out eight teams that will embark on a countrywide gold mobilisation exercise for the fourth quarter.

The teams are tasked with ensuring that gold produced across the country is delivered to Fidelity Printers to boost the country’s reserves.

“As you know, gold is the anchor of our currency, the ZiG, so we have to ensure that we increase our deliveries to Fidelity,” he said.

The country is on course to achieving this year’s target of 35 tonnes.
