FRED Kudakwashe Moyo, the son to Mines and Mining Development Deputy Minister Cde Fred Moyo who died in a Harare hospital on Tuesday, was buried yesterday at his father’s rural home in Mazvihwa area of Zvishavane. Fred Moyo Jnr (23) succumbed to tuberculosis of the stomach. He was studying Chemical Engineering in the United Kingdom at the time of his death.
Speaking at the burial, Mines and Mining Development Minister Cde Walter Chidhakwa said it was unfortunate that Fred Moyo Jnr had died at a very young age.
“As I came to pass my condolences to the Moyo family yesterday, I saw young people expressing profound pain because of the loss. “Now you have learnt the painful way that life has happiness and sadness. This is the real life. We do not have control over our lives.
“I want to say to the Moyo family you should find comfort in God, he will console you because as humans we can only give you the strength that we can and the support that we can. “All these people including us, your workmates, came here because of the good relations that you have with people,” he said.
Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to South Africa, Ambassador Isaac Moyo, who is brother to Deputy Minister Moyo, said the family had been robbed of an ambitious young man. “I was deeply saddened when I heard of the untimely death of my nephew. He was an intelligent young man and was hard working. I want to say to my brother we have lost an important member of the family and his void will never be filled,” he said.
Midlands Minister of State Cde Jason Machaya, former Governor Dr Cephas Msipa, Cde Smelly Dube and several other senior Government officials were among the people who attended the burial.
