CURRENTLY a free agent, former Masitaoka FC striker Jacob Nduna Mloyi has expressed a strong yearning to return to the pitch, with his focus directed towards opportunities within Zimbabwe’s local football scene.
The 24-year-old forward, Jacob Nduna Mloyi, rose through Bulawayo’s Young Flying Stars Sports Academy (YFSSA) before impressing at Bulawayo City, earning him a three-year contract with Botswana Premier League side Masitaoka FC. There, he played under fellow Zimbabwean Mandla Mpofu, but despite showing early promise, Mloyi is now unattached. He remains fully committed to the game and is eager for a fresh start, aiming to re-establish himself in Zimbabwean football.
“At this point in my career, I am unattached and actively searching for a new team, especially on the local scene. I am staying fit, training daily, and keeping my focus sharp because I know an opportunity can come at any time.
“My experience with Masitaoka FC in the Botswana Premier League was a great chapter. Being part of a competitive league helped me grow both professionally and personally,” said Mloyi.
Delving into his football journey, the forward shared how his path began within the formative grassroots system, providing the crucial foundation for his development.
“Coming from Young Flying Stars Academy and rising through Bulawayo City prepared me well for the challenges of professional football. I have learned to be resilient, to adapt quickly, and to always give my all — qualities I carry with me as I look for my next move.”
Now back home, Mloyi is brimming with optimism, firmly believing that an opportunity to reignite his career within the Zimbabwean local football scene is just around the corner.
“I am ready for the next challenge, whether it’s in Zimbabwe or abroad. I believe I still have a lot to give to the game, and I am open to offers,” he said.
With the local football transfer window approaching, Mloyi’s availability is set to attract interest from several Premier Soccer League (PSL) clubs in search of a dynamic attacking option.
YFSSA, directed by former top-flight footballer and development coach Collen Nyambiya, is renowned for producing professional footballers, with talents progressing both locally and internationally.
