Freedom, sweet freedom

A day dedicated to our heroes and heroines, these courageous beings.

Whom without only God knows what Zimbabwe would be like.

They fought tirelessly and courageously such that we can’t even begin to imagine ourselves in their shoes.

As lightly as we may take it, these people served our nation in a manner no one has ever done before.

Their sacrifices will forever be engraved in the history of our lovely nation Zimbabwe.

They were willing to throw themselves to the jaws of death just to bring peace to our nation.

Freedom, sweet freedom.

Not only their bravery but also their unwavering determination kept them focused.

Their remarkable unity, their oneness and loyalty to their nation played a big role in attaining our independence.

These heroes and heroines stood firm and gave it their all, teaching us all that no matter how difficult it may seem, we should die trying.

They served our nation.

They laid down their lives for us and our land and for that we salute them.

To our heroes and heroines, may your efforts not go in vain.

May our nation’s flag continue to be lifted high.
