Zimdancehall star Freeman has opened up about the emotional toll he’s facing as he prepares for his upcoming show The HKDFestival, just weeks after fellow artist Tocky Vibes was snubbed at his album launch on Saturday.
In an interview with Zimpapers Entertainment Hub, Freeman admitted that while he is putting everything into the upcoming performance, the weight of recent events has made the build-up emotionally challenging.
“Wanting to have a show in a few weeks is stressing me out,” Freeman shared.
“His statement comes in the wake of Tocky Vibes’ loss, which has sent ripples of grief throughout the local music industry.
The HKD Boss, as he’s affectionately known, took to social media recently, posting a heartfelt message:
“How many of you are coming to my show? Please be honest.”
The post was met with an outpouring of support from fans, fellow musicians, and promoters, many of whom pledged to show up in large numbers.
Freeman also expressed his spiritual side in this trying time, saying, “I’m doing my all. The rest I leave it to God.”
His words reflect the vulnerability and pressure that comes with planning a major event amid both personal and industry-wide emotional fatigue.
Despite the mental strain, Freeman remains hopeful and optimistic about the upcoming event.
“I’m expecting people to come in numbers for the show,” he added, underscoring how much he’s relying on his loyal fan base for support.
