The vehicle clipped the central reservation, careered off the road and hit a tree, her family told New Zimbabwe.com on Sunday.
Chido, who was alone, died at the scene.
She had left home in Milton Keynes intending to drive past Birmingham picking up a friend before heading to Coventry where Freeman – real name Emegy Sylvester Chizanga – was performing with Jay C and Lady Squanda.
Freeman heard news of her death and visited her family on Saturday to pay his respects.
Later on Saturday night, Freeman dedicated a song to the tragic student while performing at the Dunstable Leisure Centre and asked fans to observe a moment of silence.
Chido, who called herself Weezyholic on social networks, updated her Twitter just hours before her death, writing: “Oh Lord musandisiye, ndirwirei” [Oh Lord don’t leave me, fight for me].
Her family said burial arrangements were being made, but no date had been set. – New Zimbabwe.
