MUSIC knows no boundaries and a former Kenzamba Primary School student has gone straight from herding cattle into the recording studios to successfully launch his first two gospel music singles.
Blessing Ndevere, 29, grew up herding cattle in Makonde during his primary and secondary education.
He believes there is an abundance of raw talent in the rural areas that needs to be tapped.
“ I used to write and sing gospel music and realised that I had a God-given talent.
“This year I became quite committed.
“My singles Jakara and Ishungu were produced by Gabriel Nemhowe of Gazaland Studios here in Chinhoyi,” he said.
Ndevere, who is a devout AFM in Zimbabwe congregant, said his late brother, who was also a musician, inspired him to sing.
“My late brother was an artist and he passed away in 2010 and I took over his legacy.
“I still use his backing band, Nzeme Rhythms.
“The biggest challenges I am facing as an artist is the lack of recognition and marketing. I am appealing to well-wishers to help me achieve my dream.”
He is the last born in a family of nine children.
Three of his siblings have passed away and only six children are left in the family.
Ndevere is still single.
