From outcast to main man

Bruce Chikuni

YADAH Stars forward, Junior Zingoga, has gone from being a Ngezi Platinum outcast to the Miracle Boys go-to man.

He appears to have rediscovered the form which saw him making an early foreign breakthrough.

Zindoga has had stints with South Africa’s Maritzburg United and Djurgardens of Sweden.

He endured a reduced role last season at Ngezi as he spent the better part of the campaign in the stands.

The 23-year-old was deemed surplus to requirements by coach Takesure Chiragwi.

He  appears to be making the most of a wide attacking role, which affords him the freedom to create and take up goal-scoring positions.

Zindoga revealed his reason to snub the big clubs who were after his signature in favour of Yadah Stars.

“I endured a lot at Ngezi because I didn’t play as many games as I would have preferred but I have enough respect for the club and coaches who also helped me to grow in a way.

“I felt like I need a platform to regain my confidence, without the pressure that comes with joining any big club, because I was expected to make instant impact.

“I was honest with myself, and I knew where I was coming from as a striker and when the opportunity to join Yadah came through, I took it without hesitation.”

Zindoga said he was enticed with the Miracle Boys’ type of play.

“Yadah Stars is a youthful team which can accommodate any young player and already I was an admirer of their style of play because they are a possession-based team.

“I’m very happy with my progress and I still feel like there is so much where I can improve under the supervision of coach, Expense Chitukutuku.

“I feel like a made the right decision because I knew I needed a decent club for me to get my lost confidence back,” said Zindoga.

Yadah Stars will host CAPS United in a Castle Lager Premiership fixture this Saturday at the National Sports Stadium.
