FUEL operators risk losing their trading licences if they fail to comply with the mandatory blending of petroleum products and provide weekly returns to the Ministry of Energy and Power Development. In a statement yesterday, Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority chief executive Engineer Gloria Magombo said the move was in line with the Petroleum Act.

“The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority hereby informs all licenced fuel operators that according to Section 43 of the Petroleum Act Chapter 13:22, every licencee shall make a weekly return to the Ministry and the Authority of such matters and such form as may be prescribed.

“Account monthly for the disposal of its petroleum products by making a monthly return to the Ministry and the Authority in the prescribed form, no later than the third working day after the end of the month to which the return relates,” read the statement.

Eng Magombo said licensed fuel operators should submit a monthly price build up to the ministry and the authority showing the amount by which the pre-sale cost of a petroleum product has varied during the month to which the return relates.
