Fuel to the Fire! Gamecocks burn again at Luveve

Chicken Inn 0–1 GreenFuel

THE flames of frustration continue to scorch Chicken Inn after they slumped to yet another home horror, this time at the hands of low-flying GreenFuel at Luveve Stadium.
The Gamecocks’ home pen has turned into a hunting ground for visiting predators, with Saturday’s 1-0 defeat extending their winless streak at Luveve to six matches. Clive Rupiya’s 62nd-minute strike was enough to seal the deal for the Chisumbanje outfit, who hadn’t scored in six games before this shock result!
It was a game Chicken Inn should have wrapped up early. They bossed the opening half, created chances, but fluffed their lines, again. Genius Mutungamiri had the first sniff at goal in the 10th minute, but his effort was palmed away by a razor-sharp Ashley Ryners.

In the 16th minute, George Majika had a crack from a free kick but the GreenFuel wall stood tall. The visitors slowly found their groove and nearly silenced the home crowd in the 22nd minute through Godknows Mutina, but Donovan Bernard denied him with a smart save.
Moments later, a towering header by Mutina was cleared off the line by skipper Xolani Ndlovu as the alarm bells started ringing for the Gamecocks.
Chicken Inn came close to drawing level moments after conceding when Mutungamiri tapped in from close range, only to be denied by the assistant ref’s raised flag—offside!
GreenFuel held on for dear life, defended like madmen, and when the whistle blew, it was the Boys DzeNharo who erupted in celebration.
Chicken Inn’s home record now reads like a nightmare script; played 6, drawn 4, lost 2, won none.
