FUGITIVE KILLER LIVED IN HOTEL

FUGITIVE former Gweru businessman Peter Dube, who is on the top list of wanted criminals by Zimbabwe police in connection with three murder cases he allegedly committed in 2021, was living in a hotel.

He was nabbed by Irish police last week.

Dube (37) was living with his family at Red Cow Moran Hotel here in Dublin.

Irish police authorities confirmed his arrest.

“The male has appeared before the District Court and is currently remanded in custody.

“As the male is currently before the court, An Garda Síochána (Ireland Police) has no further comment at this time,” read the statement from Police Headquarters.

Dube, who changed his identity to Xolile Mtsali, fled Zimbabwe on the night of April 23, 2021, to South Africa.

He fatally shot Shelton Chinhango, Gamuchirai Mudungwe and Nyaradzo Nharingo at Bensam Flats in Central Gweru.

He also shot his second wife, Nyasha Nharingo, who, however, was lucky to survive. His younger brother, Advance Dube, and Justina Nomatter Chawana, Dube’s first wife, witnessed the incident and filed a police report in Gweru.

The matter is being investigated under RRB 4655417.

Since that fateful night, Dube managed, for two years, to evade arrest by changing his identity and seeking asylum in Ireland.

It is believed Dube travelled to Eswatini, where he obtained a new passport in October 2021.

Zimbabwean police have been in constant touch with Interpol in a bid to arrest and extradite him back to Harare to stand trial.

The Zimbabwean authorities last month said they had notified Interpol through a Red Notice to force his arrest.

Sources close to the investigations revealed that he was also part of a group of criminals, who have been producing fake identity documents in South Africa, for the purposes of seeking asylum in Ireland and the United Kingdom.
