AIRPORTS Company of Zimbabwe has attended this year’s edition of AviaDev Africa in Nairobi, Kenya, together with the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority to discuss tourism developments in Africa.
AviaDev is an annual aviation development conference that brings together airlines, airports, tourism authorities and other stakeholders in the aviation industry.
They discuss air connectivity and tourism development to, from and within the African continent.
Speaking during the visit Environment, Climate, Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister, Nqobizitha Mangaliso Ndhlovu, said:
“Zimbabwe is famous for its beautiful landscape and also known for its diverse wildlife and rich history.
“Zimbabwe is a remarkable resource centre and its diversified economy makes it an attractive destination for investment, not forgetting to mention the good climate, nature, culture lovers and hospitable people,” he said.
ZTA chief executive, Winnie Muchanyuka, explained the importance of attending AviaDev.
“AviaDev is a platform that brings together airports, airlines, aviation industry players, tourism authorities and governments with a view to growing connectivity to, from and within Africa as well as developing aviation as an enabler for growth on the continent.
“The ZTA and ACZ engaged in various meetings with key players in the aviation industry on how to develop and promote traffic into and out of Zimbabwe’s key airports.
“The ZTA and ACZ have partnered on this journey in a bid to foster collaboration within the aviation and tourism industries,” she said.
