A BULAWAYO man who was on the run since 2013 after he fled to South Africa following the cold-blooded murder of his friend has been arrested. Henry Simbarashe Sibanda(22) appeared before the courts last week after he was arrested by the police upon entering Zimbabwe.

Sibanda, who was 19 at the time the offence was committed is alleged to have murdered his friend and fled to South Africa. He was not asked to plead when he appeared before Mutare senior magistrate, Mr Langton Mukwengi.

He is being charged for contravening Section 47 of the Criminal law (Codification and Reform) Act Chapter 9:23. Mr Mukwengi advised him to apply for bail at the High Court since he was facing a Third Schedule offence.

Public prosecutor, Mr Fletcher Karombe, said the suspect fled to South Africa after stabbing his friend with a knife on May 4, 2013.
