Gospel musician Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave (pictured here) will release her 13th album at the Harare Agricultural Show to be held this month.
The musician said she has managed to secure a stand at the show that runs from August 24 to 29.
Unlike other musicians who launch their albums before release, Fungisai said she has decided to take a new approach that gives a number of people access to the album upon its release.
Titled “Chenai Moyo”, the album has seven tracks that carry social and gospel messages.
Early this year she promised to release two albums that cater for gospel lovers and non-believers respectively but she said she has decided to have one offering that caters for all.
In an interview, the vivacious gospel sensation said she was reaching out to her fans in a different way.
“I have secured a stand at the show and that is where the album will be unveiled,” she said.
Tracks on the album include “Makandirera Ndikakura”, “Jack Maremba”, “Ehuhwe Nyarara Mwana”, “Kugara Ndega”, “Upenyu”, ”Haihwa Kunyepa” and “Halelua Amen”.
According to her, the message on the songs cut across the social and religious divide.
“The album is a reflection of what is happening in the society and it caters for everybody, believers and non-believers alike,” she said.
She said she will also have time to sign autographs for her fans at the show.
“I will have time to interact with my fans at the show. It is important for me to do that as fans receive the new album,” she said.
Apart from all the albums the stand will have some of her fashion products.
“I am into fashion and designing, so there will also be some of the products we have from that line of business,” said Fungisai.
She is happy with the relationship between her brand and the corporate world.
“That relationship is very important as it plays a very big role in expanding our brands. I have been concentrating on private functions but I will soon be doing public shows,” she said.
