Fury vs Chisora clash CONFIRMED

Alpine driver Pierre Gasly mercifully avoided a devastating collision at the Japanese Grand Prix, speeding past a tractor while another car was being recovered.

Pierre Gasly held talks with F1 chiefs after narrowly avoiding what could have been a fatal collision at the Japanese Grand Prix.

In a chaotic start, race officials deployed a recovery vehicle on to the track while cars were still running after a crash on the first lap. But with visibility poor in the torrential conditions, the Alpine man did not see the yellow truck as he sped past, before venting his anger over team radio.

“God! What the?! What is this tractor?! What is this tractor on track?” the Frenchman shouted to his race engineer. “I passed next to it, This is unacceptable! What has happened? Can’t believe this. I could have f****** killed myself.”

A number of fellow drivers also voiced their disdain for what had transpired, with the incident coming eight years after Jules Binachi has been killed on the exact track in almost identical circumstances. Red Bull boss Christian Horner called for a probe into what he described as an “extremely dangerous” moment.

Gasly was more measured when he later took to Twitter, posting: “Glad to go home safe tonight. For the respect of Jules, all his family and for our safety and the one of the marshals, there should never be any tractor nor marshals on track in such conditions with such poor visibility. Period.”

The Frenchman was given a 20-second time penalty for red flag speeding, and also revealed that he held talks with officials afterwards to establish why: “For clarity, as discussed with the stewards, the penalty was given for going too fast between T14 and T15 which isn’t where the tractor was, I slowed down, but not enough and I take the blame for it,” he said.-DailyMirror.

FRANK WARREN has confirmed that Tyson Fury will face Derek Chisora in a trilogy fight on December 3.

The Gypsy King will defend his WBC title against Del Boy following the collapse in talks of a mega-clash with Anthony Joshua.

It will be their third contest, having fought before in 2011 and 2014, Fury winning both times.

Warren has revealed that Chisora will get his second shot at the heavyweight crown, telling IFL TV: “It went on for three or four weeks and we struggled to get an opponent.

“Now we’ve got the highest-ranked opponent and that is Derek Chisora on December 3.

“Tyson would’ve had one fight in a year and we always expected that the fight in December would be (Oleksandr) Usyk but he’s not available – now I hope that will be going on sometime in February.

“Tyson wants to fight before then and we want to get him out. We got sidetracked with the situation with AJ.

“I hope that it will be competitive but I just think that Tyson is head and shoulders above all of them.

“Derek might give him more of a fight than Anthony Joshua – I just think he (AJ) is more vulnerable.”

Fury was just 22 when he first fought Chisora, in July 2011.

Both men came into the fight breaker, and Fury won unanimously on points after 12 rounds at Wembley Arena in London

They met again in November 2014, at Excel in London, and Fury won again, at the end of the 10th round when Chisora’s corner threw in the towel.

The 38-year-old Chisora fought for the belt all the way back in 2012, losing to Vitali Klitschko.

Chisora recently claimed he was retired from boxing, having beaten Kubrat Pulev in the summer.

But now he is returning for another shot at glory against Fury, with Cardiff looking the most-likely setting for the bout. Fury had been expected to take on Joshua on December 3, only for negotiations to break down.

The 34-year-old said: “He didn’t want the fight and didn’t push it and didn’t sign the contract.

“In my opinion, and this is being brutally honest – lack of b***s from AJ and lack of being assertive.

“If you’re a man, you be assertive with your team and make sure it’s done.” Fury, who was an underdog at the time, beat Chisora on points in 2011 and then won by stoppage in their 2014 rematch.

But he had always promised Chisora a needless trilogy, as their love-hate relationship changed from friend to foe on the regular. – The Sun.
