JOHANNESBURG. – Khama Billiat has been issued with yet another warning regarding his immediate future at Kaizer Chiefs as he completes the last year of his contract at the Soweto giants.
Billiat hasn’t featured for Chiefs through the past month due to a knee discomfort and has missed the last five games.
The tearaway forward last played against AmaZulu and remains without a goal to date this season – his fifth at the club.
“In life, not only in football you must put yourself under positive pressure,” says the legendary Roger Feutmba, arguably the best midfielder to ever play in the PSL.
“It is normal that in football when you don’t perform you need to be worried because no team will renew your contract.
“No team will keep a player who doesn’t give them what they want out of him.
“I hope that he will come back from the injury and fight to continue playing football.
“A player like Khama needs to contribute for the team to get results.
“Khama must be worried now because Chiefs are paying him to be playing regularly and scoring goals.”
He added:
“His injury is not helping his situation, but I hope he comes back to fight for his future because he is no longer a youngster.
“He must focus on getting back his form and I believe he can do that,” says Feutmba adding that comparing what he did at Mamelodi Sundowns is not necessary.
“To judge a certain type of player we need to consider the environment and when it comes to Khama he has done a lot in football, and nobody can run away from that fact and that he is a good player.
“The philosophy at Sundowns suited him and was surrounded by players who made his job easier.
“At Chiefs, they have different types of players and philosophy so that is what has made it difficult for him to emulate what he did at Sundowns.
“You can’t expect Khama to do what he did at Sundowns without considering all the facts.
“This must not be about Khama not doing well at Chiefs but rather the club not doing well because football is a team sport that calls for a collective effort,” he added. – KickOff.com
