Fusire in quagmire, as club struggles financially

ZIMBABWEAN international Sean Fusire is among the Sheffield Wednesday players facing financial uncertainty as the club struggles with ongoing wage delays

The 20-year-old midfielder, who returned from a loan spell at Carlisle United in June 2025, is part of the senior squad that has been told not to expect the early payment of September wages.

Academy players and some technical staff may receive full or partial payments, but most first-team members, including Fusire, are likely to be affected.

This marks the fifth month in seven that the club has experienced wage delays. Failure to pay players or staff will likely result in further sanction from the English Football League (EFL), which has already imposed five embargoes on the team.
