adminNadine, who is the queen, walked away US$3 000 richer with a make-up contract from Sleek worth US$7 000 as well as a facility car during her reign by G-tel Zimbabwe. Tabelo Masoha, the first princess, received US$2 000, while second princess Tanya Chikuni was given US$1 000.
Unlike other pageants where the winning models have to fight to get their prizes, G-tel Face of Zimbabwe pageant organisers made sure the winners got their prizes on time.
“I am grateful to the organisers for giving us the prizes early, I am looking forward to start my reign,” said Nadine.
“I am so overwhelmed. I thank the organisers and the judges for showing faith in me. I am excited about winning although I was not expecting it since the competition
was stiff. I am humbled by this opportunity and now looking forward to the future.”
Nadine will represent Zimbabwe in the Miss Supernatural in Poland. The beauty queen, who is former Miss Teen Zimbabwe, made headlines in 2010 after clashing with director of Miss Teen, Leslie Gurajena, for failing to honour pledges for prizes she won.
G-tel Face of Zimbabwe is an online pageant based on public voting which a panel of judges who select a winner every month moderates. The panel of judges consists of US- based afro-jazz musician Cee Jay Besa, Ireland-based presenter Priscilla Nelana, UK- based model Caroline Kambukami and South African-based actor Melgin Tafirenyika.
Now in its second season, G-tel Face of Zimbabwe is an international pageant which seeks to market Zimbabwe to other countries through the beauty of its people while raising funds for charity. The competition has so far attracted Zimbabwean contestants based in South Africa, US, China, UK, Malaysia, Canada and New Zealand.
