Sungura musician Romeo Gasa on Saturday brought life to Murehwa when he performed at Shades Night Club.
Tracks such as “Nherera”, “Kutanda Botso” and “Nguva” kept music lovers on their toes.
Gasa believes his support base is wide in rural areas where he usually stages live performances.
The musician said he was concentrating on shows outside Harare because the people there understood his music.
“The music business is just low these days, but we are shocked with the way people are coming to our shows and it is encouraging,” he said.
He said it was high time musicians spread their wings to every corner of the country for them to get reasonable returns.
“Artistes usually perform in Harare because they want to make names, but these days they are not getting much because people are not coming to shows,” he said.
The Extra Valembe frontman said he is already sampling songs from his yet to be titled upcoming album.
“I have a new song ‘Dadi’ which I have been sampling at my shows and it is doing well,” he said.
He said he was still learning a number of things from sungura ace Alick Macheso.
“When I came into the music industry people compared me with him which was unfair because we are still learning a lot from him,” he said.
