Banda was employed as a domestic worker at Morgensen Farm in Fort Rixon.
It is alleged that on 26 December at about 1.45am, somebody who had entered her blankets and trying to remove her panties awakened the juvenile.
The girl reportedly screamed and the would-be rapist threw away the blankets, which landed on the girl’s elder sister, and fled from the scene leaving the door open.
The juvenile and her sister followed the man outside but could not catch up with him but identified the green shirt and green pair of trousers as the ones that Banda was wearing during the day.
Banda had spent the day drinking beer with other villagers at the girl’s neighbour’s homestead.
The girl and her elder sister informed their mother who then suggested they go and look for Banda.
The three allegedly went to where Banda was drinking beer during the day with the intention of verifying if he was still there.
The court heard that when they arrived at the homestead, they found one Noel Sibanda, Bernard Ncube and George Ncube who had been drinking with Banda and they said Banda had gone to sleep.
The matter was reported at Shangani Police Base leading to Banda’s arrest.
