Simon, who pleaded not guilty to the charges, was, however, convicted of the offences.
Regional magistrate Ms Fadzai Mthombeni sentenced Simon to 20 years in prison before setting aside three years on condition of good behaviour.

It is the State’s case that the teenager later regained consciousness and went home where she proceeded to the police with her mother.
She was later taken to Mbare Polyclinic for a medical examination.
On an unknown date while being driven home by her father, the girl identified Simon and her father immediately stopped the car leading to Simon’s arrest.
