girls’ school they got every right to brag as they set the pace for others to follow.
They are the ladies in green, Cool Lifestyle had the opportunity or should I say the honour to see these ladies at training.
It was quite a spectacle as talents were unravelled to the puzzlement of the Cool Lifestyle team.
Considering the reputation of the ladies which precede them as far as sporting disciplines are concerned, the Cool Lifestyle team was up for a surprise.
Truth be told, the ladies better bettered expectations.
Girls’ High School is divided into five houses, namely Sable, Dindingwe, Shumba, Panda and Mbanda.
As much as we wanted to cover the activities of all the houses due to time we couldn’t. Luck was on the Sable team’s side — not that they were better than their compatriots but I guess the gods did them a favour.
Led by their teacher Ms Madziva and their house captain Lisa Njovana they showed a fighting spirit and a good winning mentality.
Without hesitation I am putting my money on Sable ladies to scoop the much coveted inter-house competitions trophy come final day.
The house has a visible winner’s mentality that runs through it, when asked for comment the house captain smiled and said: “I think commenting might be sheer waste of time, not that I am arrogant or overconfident but as you can see our dedication and hard work says it all that we are winners.”
This was greeted with nods and cheers from the rest of her team.
She added: “The attitude of the whole team makes working with them interesting, with my team you don’t have to be the leader you just have to part of the crew because everyone knows what she is supposed to be doing. Since we started training we are improving each and every day and I am sure come final day they got give us our trophy day begins because we are winning and there are know two ways about it”.
It is no exaggeration that this house is truly the guardians of the school’s motto, “Per Ardua Ad Astra”, “Through hard work, we will reach the stars”.
To some this might seem way of the hook and sheer arrogance but to the lucky ones as myself and the Cool Lifestyle team who had the privilege to see these girls doing what they know best it is even a surprise why they are not demanding their trophy now not waiting for final day.
The highlight of the day was when they performed their war cry and must admit it was scary; this is the point when one feels so luck that won’t be battling it out with these girls in a game of witty and endurance.
To say the least, the first day of our school visits was exciting more than we anticipated and we hope and pray that it will continue like that in all the visits to follow.
Keep on inviting us and we promise we won’t disappoint you by not coming defiantly will be there as you do your antics. From the Cool Lifestyle desk it’s a goodbye for now. Till next time, stay focused.
