GLENWOOD rapist, Tatenda Zhanje, who raped and impregnated his 15-year-old resulting in her death two weeks after giving birth, is now being charged with CULPABLE HOMICIDE.
The 22-year-old appeared at the Epworth Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Tatenda appeared before resident magistrate, Tafadzwa Miti, facing culpable homicide and having sexual intercourse with a minor.
He was remanded in custody to tomorrow at the Harare Magistrates’ Court where his case was transferred to.
Tatenda is alleged to have started sexually assaulting his late niece, Yeukai Dandara, when she was 15.
He impregnated and lived with her as his wife in Glenwood, Harare, after relatives urged them to leave the village in Murehwa to conceal the incestuous affair.
Yeukai died on January 25 and was buried in Dandara Village, Murehwa. Yeukai had been orphaned at an early age.
