SCHOOLBOY DREAMS OF EMPLOYING YOUTHS

A 16-year-old schoolboy from Dzivaresekwa dreams of employing youths engaged in drugs and substance abuse in the fine arts industry.

Nomatter Kutsawa, a Form 3 student at Allan Wilson High School, is a self-taught fine artist who believes art could help rehabilitate young people who are stuck in drugs and substance abuse.

“My dream is to empower other young people by initiating them into the fine arts. Not only will this take them off the streets, but offer employment opportunities.

“You can make a living through fine art if you put your mind to it.

“My dream is to set up my own studio and teach other young people fine art so that they can make money from it instead of indulging in drugs and substance abuse,” said Kutsawa.

He said he was inspired by renowned artists, Raphael Jamu and Keith Zenda Art.
