DISTANCE runner Godwin Katakura will shift his focus to international competition this month when he competes at the Hannover Marathon in Germany.
The race is set for April 12.
The 2026 CBZ Marathon winner is rounding off his preparations and says he is targeting an improvement on his personal best, which currently stands at 2 hours, 11 minutes and 2 seconds.
The Cadence Athletics Club runner posted that time at last year’s Durban International Marathon in South Africa.
“I am hoping for a PB. If I can run a new PB, I would have achieved my goal because that’s my focus at the moment,” said Katakura.
Katakura is among the athletes who have attracted the interest of the National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe ahead of next year’s World Athletics Championships.
He has been working with his training partners Blessing Waison, who is preparing for the Two Oceans Marathon, as well as Arthur Chitara and Shelton Ncube.
