Gog’Bekezela a Zimbabwean award-winning Afro-Jazz and world-music artiste, songwriter, healer, and cultural development practitioner is set to represent Zimbabwe at the APICA Econet Festival being held from February 27 to March 1 at Ramabanta Trading Post in Lesotho.

Nisbert Moyo, managing director of Gobela Arts Development Agency, which was founded by Gog’Bekezela, expressed excitement as the agency represents Zimbabwe at the prestigious APICA Econet Festival in Lesotho.
“The festival, will feature Gog’Bekezela, the talented artiste behind the hit track Bekezela, who will perform on February 28.
“The energy is going to be contagious. He’s been working on some amazing songs, and we can’t wait for people to enjoy them,” he said.
The APICA Econet Festival is a major music event in the region, bringing together top artists and showcasing the best of African culture.
“This is a huge opportunity for us to showcase Zimbabwe’s true talent ,it’s a chance to put Gobela Arts Development Agency on the map and strengthen Zimbabwe’s cultural representation in the region,” said Moyo.
The artist will perform alongside top acts like Hot Stix Mabuse, Mawhoo, and Kelvin Momo.
GogBekezela’s performance is highly anticipated, with Moyo promising it will be phenomenal.
“The energy is going to be contagious. He’s been working on some amazing songs, and we can’t wait for people to enjoy them. He will unpack new music, showcasing his unique sound that earned him the spot at the festival.
Sharing the stage with legends like Hot Stix Mabuse is a huge honor, this is going to be quite an experience. We hope this festival opens more doors for true Zimbabwean artists and showcases our rich culture.”
Moyo is positive about the impact of GogBekezela’s new sound ,which he said will put the artist in the spotlight.
“With this new sound and style, we’re positive it will bring recognition and opportunities for both Gobela Arts Development Agency and the band,”said Moyo.
With over 14 years of experience, GogBekezela has performed across Africa, sharing stages with notable artistes like the late Oliver Mtukudzi and Zahara. His music explores themes of ancestral wisdom, spirituality, and cultural identity, as seen in hits like Bekezela and Mfihlakalo.
