Gogo Mashakada dies at 84

THE mother of the late sungura maestro, Cephas Mashakada, has died.

Gogo Faidres Mashakada was 84.

She had been battling a heart problem and hypertension for the past two years.

Her granddaughter, Fedeelis Mashakada, said they were devastated by the death of Gogo Mashakada.

“Gogo was loving and a pillar of strength in the family and the church. “She was a member of the Salvation Army Church.

“She was a retired Ward Sergeant in the Salvation Army.

“She was always on time and never late for church services and activities.

“She was given the nickname Mai Fast for being punctual,” said Fedeelis.

She will be buried tomorrow at Chemagamba Cemetery in Chinhoyi.

Mourners are gathered at House Number 489 Chitambo Section, Chinhoyi.
