Gokwe man sentenced to 23 years for murder

JAMES Munyaradzi from Gokwe South has been sentenced to 23 years in prison by the Gweru High Court Circuit for the murder of 28-year-old Knowledge Jenhe.

The conviction stems from a violent altercation that occurred on January 7, 2024, resulting in Jenhe’s death.

In a statement, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) said the court heard that Munyaradzi and Jenhe had a disagreement, which escalated into a physical confrontation.

“During the altercation, Munyaradzi stabbed Jenhe on the left side of the head and once on the left side of the chest. Jenhe succumbed to the deep cuts inflicted during the attack.

“After the stabbing, Munyaradzi fled the scene but was later apprehended by authorities. The Gweru High Court Circuit found him guilty of murder, emphasizing the severity of the crime and the need for justice. James Munyaradzi was sentenced on February 5, 2025, by the Gweru High Court Circuit,” said NPAZ
