Gold firm shut over registration glitch

A GOLD processing company has been shut down, leaving over 100 workers stranded, following reports that it was operating without proper registration.

Timsite Enterprises, located at Barrase Farm in Bindura, is now under investigation.

This follows revelations that the company had been operating, for the past five years, using fake registration documents.

One of the directors was registered on the alleged fake documents under Kevin Kenton and the company owner as Yang Linhai.

One of the company secretaries, Mirirai Chebanga, locked the gate following reports that the directors were allegedly removing property at night.

Yang, who is believed to be on the police wanted list, has since fled the country.

“The company has been operating for the past five years using fake documents,” said Mirirai.

“I had to block the directors from selling part of the property.

“They were removing property at night and a number of workers have been affected by this.

“Documents shown to investigating officers have some discrepancies with documents found at the Deeds Office.

“Some of the directors were changed without following procedure and one of them has a questionable name.”
