TWENTY vulnerable students from Shamva will get their fees paid for by a mining firm operating in the area.
The gold mining company has also donated stationery to students at Ming Chang Primary School.
The company built the school before handing it over to the Government in 2016.
It has also contributed towards road rehabilitation, water and sanitation projects, health outreach initiatives, skills exchange programmes as well as educational support initiatives.
Ming Chang general manager, Liang Guo Du, said the company is currently working towards the replacement of a transformer to restore power supply at the school.
He said they will attend to all areas which need to be addressed at the school but this will be done in phases. He called for parents to support and spearhead development projects at the school.
School head Itai Mutizwa said learning was being disrupted by accommodation challenges.
“We have teachers coming from as far as Bindura and some of the rural parts of this area and this affects learning,” he said. Mutizwa said they need to construct new classroom blocks.
