Golden opportunity for Ndoro

ORLANDO Pirates head coach Eric Tinkler believes that players such as Zimbabwean ace striker Tendai Ndoro need to seize the opportunity created by the departure of nimble footed Kermit Erasmus.

Erasmus joined French side Rennes and seemed to have caught Tinkler and Pirates by surprise. Despite admitting it was a great loss Tinkler said fringe players like Ndoro can take the chance and impress.

Ndoro has struggled with game time at Orlando Pirates since his move from Mpumulanga Black Aces.

Tinkler told Kickoff.com:A a?Now the door has opened for the other guys like Ndoro. It has opened opportunities for a youngster, Letsie Koapeng. Those guys must step up and hold up a hand and say I am ready.a?

Ndoro was an unused substitute when Orlando Pirates drew 1-1 with Kaizer Chiefs at the last weekendas Soweto derby.

Ndoro, who scored seven league goals for Aces in the past Mzansias season, joinedA up with fellow Bucsa striker in Thamsanqa Gabuza, Erasmus, Lehlohonolo Majoro, Lennox Bacela and Hector Pelembe in June last year.

The player was in the form of his life when Pirates signed him from AmaZayoni, but he has failed to hit the ground running under the stewardship of Tinkler.

In early January it was reported that Polokwane City wereA one of the teams keen on Ndoroas services and that Pirates could allow him to join them on-loan for the remainder of the season.

Ndoro, who was signed at the beginning of the current campaign, is well behind in the pecking order at Pirates.

Thamsanqa Gabuza andA Erasmus have both been leading the attack, with Lehlohonolo Majoro sometimes cracking the nod ahead of Ndoro.

The Zimbabwean forward was linked with a possible multi-million rands move to Mamelodi Sundowns before putting pen to paper with Bucs, while Kaizer Chiefs were also believed to be keeping a close eye on him.

However, chances of him moving to either club are slim at this stage, as Pirates may be reluctant to see him join a rival club.
