JAPAN based Zimbabwean golfer, Scott Vincent is days away from qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics whose cutoff date for qualification is 21 June.

Vincent, who is playing on the Asian tour for now is ranked 55 in the Olympic golf rankings for men.

Should he maintain that position in the next coming days, he is guaranteed of a spot at the Tokyo Games since 60 male players are in line to qualify.

At the 2016 Rio Olympics held in Brazil, when the sport was included at the biggest sporting event in the world, Zimbabwe did not have any representation in golf.

Vincent is the country’s best golfer at the moment and has an Official Golf Ranking of 227.

Martin Chikwana, the Zimbabwe Golf Association of Zimbabwe vice president, who is also a national selector is confident that Vincent will qualify for the Olympics since all the golfer has to do is to maintain his current position and ensure that he does not drop beyond position 60.

Should he manage to remain in the top 60 in the Olympic golf rankings up to 21 June, Scott and management team will be heading off to Japan.
