Golfing for CUT’s infrastructural development

Chinhoyi University of Technology’s second annual golf tournament springs into action at Chinhoyi Golf Club today.

Themed: “Capacitating CUT through infrastructural Development”, the Chinhoyi Fundraising Golf is open to individual ardent golfers and teams from corporates across the country.

The tournament will see golf players battle it out for the grand prize and proceeds will be directed towards chapel and a sports pavilion construction.

Since its inception, Chinhoyi University has been seized with the need to renovate inherited teachers’ college buildings into modern university infrastructure.

As a stakeholder-driven higher and tertiary education institution, the university’s vision is to produce complete graduates that are both spiritually and physically empowered hence the need to build a chapel and sports pavilion alike.

The immediate construction of a chapel and sports pavilion will go a long way in making sure that the university succeeds in fulfilling its mission of addressing the students’ healthy needs as much as it helps in producing students with prolific sporting and academic skills.

CUT director of marketing and public relations, Dr Musekiwa Tapera in a statement said: “We are appealing to our traditional and new supporters to grace this tournament and contribute meaningfully to the development of this young and vibrant university.”

The golf tournament seeks to fully equip the institution through the construction of student teaching and learning facilities in view of the ever growing student enrolment each year.

This year’s edition of Chinhoyi University of Technology tournament will be promoting a carnival of corporate colours for the participating teams.

“Chinhoyi University of Technology continues to appeal to corporates to assist it in this noble endeavour as it seeks to be the centre of excellence for technological innovation and entrepreneurship.

“The University’s philosophy is that its students are very special and are entitled to quality delivery of tertiary education and these golf tournaments are a reflection of the cause.” said Dr Tapera.
