The first day of the tournament has started on a competitive level for the bowlers as most of them have managed to register some points.
Craven said he was happy to be part of the tournament although it is too early to predict who will be the winner since they still have six more games to come.
“I am very happy to be part of the Masters, it has high level bowls and it is too soon to tell who will be the winner,” Craven said.
Alan Dykes got two points in his first game while Dereck Robinson could not register a single point in his first game before getting two points in the second.
The Masters tournament has attracted the Zimbabwe’s singles champions across the country.
The tournament is one of the most prestigious and is used as a selection by the Bowls Zimbabwe selectors to come up with the team that will represent the country at Africa States bowls to be held in South Africa in August.
The Bowls Zimbabwe will select five men and five women from the Masters tournament.
In the women’s section, Dru Smith’s first game saw her get five points before failing to register a score in the second game.
Kerry Craven started her day on a lower note when she got a point (one) before she successfully recorded six points in her second game while Trish Davies managed to get two points in her first match before getting six points in her second game.
It was a different story for Mavilee Goodall as she started her day on a brighter score when she registered five points before dropping to two points in her second game.
The Masters tournament will end tomorrow.
