Good Samaritan hijacked

A Harare man lost his car, cash and goods all valued at US$6 570 to four robbers he had given a lift to Budiriro suburb while coming from Harare’s city centre on Tuesday.Harare Provincial police spokesperson Inspector Tedius Chibanda confirmed the incident and said the car was recovered by police dumped at Mazai Farm near Budiriro.

“We received a report following a robbery case that took place on Tuesday in Budiriro. Our reports indicate that Aleck Chakanyuka (38) of Glen View 1 was robbed of his car, US$250 cash and other valuables valued at US$6 570 by four robbers after giving two of them a lift to Budiriro 5B.”

Chakanyuka was driving his Honda Fit coming from the city centre and after passing the High Glen flyover he was stopped by two men who asked him for a lift to Budiriro 5B. While at the corner of Bhinya and Masese roads, one of the men grabbed Chakanyuka’s neck and the other turned the steering wheel out of the road before vehicle hit the road side.
