Gaborone United defender Tatenda Gora believes they have a chance to clinch the Botswana Premier Soccer League when action resumes after a holiday break.
Currently they are just one point behind log leaders TAFIC, who are tied on 25 points with Rollers.
Gaborone United will be looking to assert their dominance in the upcoming fixtures and potentially claim the top spot.
They are the only club to have won all their last four matches in the Botswana Premier League.
On January 4 they will be travelling away to face Morupule Wanderers.
Gora, who has been a key player for the team, is determined to help the team secure silverware by contributing in all aspects of the game.
He scored his first competitive goal for the club in a 3-2 win over Centre Chiefs to secure maximum points.
Gora has also featured in all the club’s games this season.
“It’s always a positive feeling to see yourself contributing to the team’s success week in and week out,” said Gora.
“I am grateful to the club, the coaches, and the players for being supportive and trusting me.
“The confidence is high, and we could see it by the purple patch we were enjoying prior to the break.
“We have been putting in a lot of hard work on and off the pitch as we are seeking to win some silverware come the end of the season.
“The holiday break was essential for us as it allowed us some time with family and to take a short breather, but it might come with some consequences.
“We have a game away, and it means more travelling for the team, which might break some flow in our game.
“But as I have mentioned earlier, we are determined to make a difference and put our mark, so we will fight with all we have.”
Gora is on the books of Gaborone till 2026.
