Villagers in Goromonzi have thanked the International Organization for Migration (IOM) for its reintegration programme that encourages community members to embrace people returning to the country from other countries.

Through the programme, traditional, faith-based, and community leaders are engaged to foster seamless reintegration and conflict prevention.

IOM Director General Ms Amy Pope met local leaders today to evaluate the impact of the training.

Mrs Eveline Chijongwe highlighted the importance of the initiative.

“The programme is playing a pivotal role as quite a number of people are returning to the country, mostly from South Africa. The initiative ensures that these people are properly welcomed back into the community.”
