Gorowa to submit report

Under pressure Warriors coach Ian “Dibango” Gorowa is this week expected to table his report before the Zifa high performance technical committee following the national team’s shameful exit from the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
Zifa chief executive Jonathan Mashingaidze disclosed that the technical committee will study Gorowa’s report before making recommendations to the Zifa board.

He said the committee’s comprehensive report “will guide the board in their decision-making process.”
“Qualification to the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations was one of the conditions Zifa set for Gorowa when an agreement was reached to retain him as Warriors coach. He has failed to do that. However, a decision on which step to take next will only be made after getting recommendations from the technical committee,” he said.

The high performance technical committee is led Zifa technical director Maxwell Takaendesa Jongwe and John Phiri, the Zifa board member for development.

Other members of the committee include former Warriors coaches Misheck Chidzambwa and Gibson Homela, Cosmas Zulu, former national team defender Charles Sibanda, CAF referees’ instructor Wilfred Mukuna and junior soccer development consultant Bhekimpilo Nyoni.
