HONDE Valley-based gospel artiste, Winnie Makoni, launched her six-track DVD album, Mwari Munoraira at a colourful ceremony at Hauna at the weekend.
Winnie Makoni and the Tower of Grace Singers launched the DVD album as part of the group’s vision to help their fans understand the message they sing.
The DVD, which explores God’s steadfast love, consists of songs, Munoraira Zuva, VaIsraeri, Vandisimudza Jesu, Jesu Munorwira, Zvivi Zvedu and Kana Ndirini.
Makoni told The Weekender that releasing the album was a form of confirmation that God was ordering her steps in as far as ministering the Word was concerned.
She added that music was one of the many ways she uses to preach the gospel.
“I have always been passionate about preaching and spreading the Word of God. I use music to do this and I will continue to do it because it gives me a sense of peace and satisfaction that I am serving my God,” she said.
Said Makoni: “I am glad that we have not been affected by piracy and that alone is something to be grateful about. Being a woman in this industry can, however, be a challenge in the sense that most promoters prefer working with men and somehow it is a setback on our part.”
She revealed that the group would be releasing a new album in the first quarter of next year.
