Gospel choir donates to children’s home

another as Zimbabweans brings us together.
“As we approach the festive season most families out there tend to celebrate with their loved ones.
“So we decided to celebrate with these children since they also need to be accommodated and shown love,” said Pastor Mtengwa.

He said failing to appreciate one another especially the youths leads to depression.
“Some will not have the material things to show off at the festive ceremonies so by showing love we cover a lot of things in their lives,” said Mtengwa.

Purple Pride Family is a well-known gospel outfit which has shown its talent in fulfilling both in singing and showing “agape” love.

They have released an album called “Praise One” which comprises two songs and an instrumental.
The choir continues to inspire and change the lives of many through providing to the needy as well as uplifting songs.

Hermann Gmeiner founded SOS Children’s Home in 1989. It accommodates 150 children and 65 youths and 15 family units.

“It is a family set-up where we allocate these kids in family units their guardian being a mother.
“They are given monthly allowances to cater for their needs just like any other family,” said the child development planner Richard Nyaruwanga.

He said they get their children from the Social Welfare Department.
“After we have weaned them we cater for their rentals until they are able to support themselves,” he said.
