All set for Zim hip-hop awards . . .Zeus, Kold Produck and Dontello jet in today

Botswana will lead the South Africans Kold Produck and Dontello in a must-attend show that promises fireworks.

Event co-ordinator Aldrian Beefy Harrison said he was expecting the guys delayed in coming to Harare due to other commitments.

“We wanted the team to visit all our radio stations in the capital before the show, but I don’t see that happening since they are arriving a bit late tomorrow (today) maybe they can only do that soon after the show probably tomorrow before they leave,” said Beefy.

He said he wanted the team to receive a hero’s welcome as it was the norm with all foreign artistes who previously visited Zimbabwe.

“We wanted it to be the same as that of Akon and Sean Paul or even better but there is no more time to do that. Now let’s focus on the awards ceremony,” he said.

The show promises to be a memorable one to all hip-hop music fanatics who have “responded well” through buying tickets in advance and with help from Zimbabwe Music Rights Association who are also playing a crucial role in bringing transparency throughout the show.

The marketing director of the Zimbabwe Hip-Hop Awards, Kevin Kumire, said he was happy with the progress made in bringing more than three foreign artistes to perform at the awards this year.

“It has been a bumpy road, but finally we made it. Those who doubted tonight they are going to be proved wrong. I’m over the moon that we have more than three artistes from outside Zimbabwe performing at the awards which is a remarkable change since we started the awards last year. We hope to maintain the same standards,” he said.

The show, which starts at 6.00pm till late,  is hosted by Star FM DJ J-Boss and a news anchor Nomalanga Vuma.
