Gospel music lovers in for a treat

GOSPEL music lovers in the city will be in for a rare treat tomorrow when some of the country’s celebrated gospel groups share their spiritually uplifting tracks with fans.The show which will run under the “It’s all about Jesus” theme will be held at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair grounds. The event which will be headlined by phenomenal choir group, Zimpraise, will feature “Minister” Takesure Ncube of Worship Addicts, godfather of gospel music, Mechanic Manyeruke, Mathius Mhere, the Vocal Extraordinaire Choir as well as the Word of Life Music Team.

The concert will  start in the afternoon after the Word of Life Faith Convention Conference.

The youthful musicians would be led by one of Zimbabwe’s music legend, Baba Manyeruke, whose music career spans more than three decades.

Zimpraise which is proving to be one of the most popular gospel outfits in the country, is riding high with its hit track Sungano from their fifth album Covenant.

Mhere, whose album Favour catapulted him to fame, has another album with the track Number  Busy (Try Again) which is already a household track, while the Bulawayo-founded Worship Addicts, now based in Harare, are also becoming a recognised outfit.

The gospel concert is expected to bring together Christians from all denominations in Bulawayo in song and worship.
