Tracy Pfumai, better known as Amai Tracy Pfumai in the gospel circles, is hot property among female gospel musicians in the country.
She brings in a new angle to gospel music.
She said her music complements UFIC founder Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa’s ministry.
“I ventured into music almost a decade ago, but I recently found out that my music moves hand in glove with most of “Papa” (Makandiwa)’s sermons.
“We are in that era of making a change through music and the only powerful instrument that can change people’s lives is the microphone and the speakers that project the sound,” said Amai Pfumai.
“Deliverance”
“Deliverance” talks more about the life changing times and acknowledges God, and encourages people not to fall for earthly “things’’.
Judging from the six-track album, the Mai Charamba-inspired musician could be the next most decorated gospel musician.
She joins the list of renowned female gospel divas such as Amai Charamba, Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave, Jane Doka, Shingisai Suluma, Mercy Mutsvene, Agartha Murudzwa and Olinda Marowa among others.
Her previous projects earned her respect and credibility for her ability to fuse sungura and jazz together.
In 2007 she released her debut album “Simba reMweya Mutsvene” and two years later she came back with an eight -track album titled “NaJesu Zvinogoneka” which became her first successful project.
To date she has two promotional videos each taken off the first two albums. Both videos made it to Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation top 100 list in respective
years.
Pfumai is yet to assemble a full-time band before resuming shows countrywide.
