GOSPEL MUSICIAN PREACHES GOD’S LOVE

GOSPEL musician, Charmaine “Char” Chinowaita, has released a single titled Ndawana Rudo, which preaches God’s true love.

The 22-year-old says her songs remind people of the unconditional, constant and unwavering love of Christ.

Her track, Ndawana Rudo, is an Afro fusion gospel, which is set to hold its own.

She roped in Takakunda, the son of veteran instrumentalist, Mono Mukundu, to play the lead guitar.

Adrian Kaputen played the mbira instrument while Shane was on keyboards.

Guitarist Mr Enoch played the bass guitar.

In an interview with H-Metro, Char said:

Ndawana Rudo was written by Adrian Kaputen, I had come across some of his work in the traditional gospel industry and approached him asking if we could collaborate on a project together and Ndawana Rudo was born.

“We decided we were going to work on a song that speaks about the love of Christ, using his lyrics and my vocals, and arrangements. Production was quite difficult as Adrian is based in Bulawayo, so most of the work we did online and it was back and forth, sending each other ideas and suggestions until we agreed that the song was perfect,” she said.

Char added that she is currently working with Jason Gwanzura, on her debut album titled Perfect People, due for release on March 3.

“The gospel album features different kinds of sounds ranging from Afro jazz, Afro pop, to contemporary worship music.

“This year, I hope to work with Mark Madzinga. I think he’s incredible,” she added.

Char is a member of the gospel group The Unveiled, as an alto/tenor vocalist.
