A HIGHFIELD woman left the Harare Civil Court dejected after her application for a peace order was thrown out.

Precious Fende sought a peace order against her mother-in-law, Georgina Chigwaza, accusing her of attempting to evict her. But Magistrate Tamara Chibindi dismissed the application after Precious failed to provide convincing evidence. “My mother-in-law has been trying to evict me since the day I went to my husband’s house.

“She claims that she is the one who inherited the house, but my husband told me his late father left the house for him. My husband left the house three days ago, kutotiza mutauro.

“Georgina once hired and paid a man to evict me from my husband’s house then I called the police and he confessed that she had sent him,” said Precious.

In her defence, Chigwaza disputed Precious’ testimony and told the court that she doesn’t know her.

“She came to my house through my stepson after she was helped adzingwa kumba kwavo last month. Now she wants to take over lying that she is my stepson’s wife. She burnt my property and harvested my crops.  Akutoita kunge ane makore achigara nesu mutorwa uyu.”
